if you want to be the first to hear it, and get exclusive deluxe versions! I need *your* help to get the news out to anyone who liked previous Sad Song Co. albums, was a fan of Unbelievable Truth, or someone who likes moody emotional alternative pop rock! There's a lyric video at

feel free to watch and share that also.

Below is the prose that goes with this track. Each song on this loose concept album has an associated passage that was originally part of my inspiration for the lyrics, and became part of the experience of the record.

Even though he didn't ask for credit, this song was co-written with Andy Yorke, and the vocal line he improvised over a guitar riff of mine during pre-production sessions for his solo album "Simple" that I produced. So this is as close to an Unbelievable Truth track as you can get for the foreseeable future!

Meet You There

His jaw hangs slack. The bed covers - including his favourite eiderdown that she brought from their room at the home - move imperceptibly. The doctor checks the things a doctor checks. “It won’t be long”, he says to the wife. She’s prepared. It’s OK. Life has been good, and long, and fruitful. She takes his hand and leans close, whispering in his ear.

Can you hear me?
Are you in there?
Are you holding on?
Will the last thing that you hear be me?
Is the warmth from
My fingers
Sinking through
Your paper fleshed hands?
Go ahead
I will meet you there

Pioneering, trailblazing keeper of the flame
You ignore the waves you’re wading through
’Til the water closes over your eccentric brow
And takes you from my view
Go ahead. Go ahead.
I will meet you there
You’ve done all that you have to do. Let go.
It’s all ok. Please just let go. It’s all that’s left to do
